League of Legends. Overwatch. These two games are not popular, they are gaming culture JUGGERNAUTS. Millions of cosplays, fanarts, fanfics made of both games, it is almost guaranteed that neither game is going to die anytime soon. On the other side of the spectrum, you have the laughing stock that is Battleborn, a game that MAYBE could have been great but got quickly HUMILIATED by Overwatch, to the point that its peak number of players is barely a tenth the average number of Overwatch players. And between those two extremes is SMITE, a mildly successful but otherwise irrelevant MOBA. What's the difference?

On October this year, I'll be marking the sixth year anniversary of my first time playing League of Legends. It's been one hell of a journey for me, full of life changing experiences both good (learning to pick myself up from failure) and bad (dealing with toxic players). Around three days ago I was playing a game of League of Legends, and I was doing pretty badly. I was not making the right decisions, I was allowing my emotions to get the better of me, and ultimately I was being a hindrance to my team. A teammate of mine (whom I have since blocked) started flaming me, taking every opportunity he could (I'm assuming he was male) to deride me, insult me, and get me to uninstall the game. I did not have fun, I can tell you that much, and in fact I had to take some time off just to calm down. In spite of the fact that we won, and that I in fact started making better, game changing decisions, I was never offered an apology. This is nothing new to League, however. But, a question to be asked is: why are so many League of Legends players like this?

This happened to me about three months ago. I was playing League of Legends, and I opted to go Mid Lane Twisted Fate AP-AD Hybrid, because that's how I roll sometimes. No, it was not a ranked game, it was just a Normal game between 10 strangers. Or at least, that was what I thought. I remember like it was yesterday the champs chosen. We had a top lane Garen, a bottom lane Ezreal, a support Zilean, and Morgana jungle. At first I was like "huh?" But then I figured "breaking the meta, sweet." Boy, was I in for a surprise!

You know what I'm sick and tired of seeing online? I'm sick and tired of seeing people be courteous to each other even after they completely screwed up my winning streak. I am tired as hell of the guy who lost us the game asking for forgiveness in lobby. I am sick of having to share credit with my support or my jungler for MY kills, even if the jungler applied the crowd control needed for me to get the kill and the support gave me heals and buffs whenever the enemy got lucky and managed to gang up on me. I am sick and tired of having to deal with junglers who don't gank for me whenever I ORDER them to. Do you feel like I do? League of Legends- What winners are made of

What I am about to write does not apply exclusively to League of Legends, but to every game, every sport, every facet of our lives. But I'll talk about League of Legends because, well, it's what this blog is for.

League of Legends is an online game (sport as of June 2013), where two teams of five compete against each other to destroy the other team's home base. I myself also play it, and am currently level 30 (max level) in the Latin America North server, as well as the Western Europe server.

When you start off in League, chances are you will not be very good. You'll die a lot. You won't get many kills, if any. And since the League community is infamous for being, well, a collection of assholes, chances are you will get yelled at. You will be called a noob, a moron, a retard. You will be told to uninstall the game, to quit gaming altogether, and in some cases, you may even be told to go die.
