RPG: Good Idea, Bad Idea

The following is a list of things that RPG's typically do, giving a contrast of doing it well (Good Idea) versus doing it badly (Bad Idea). I will also give examples of games that apply the Good or Bad ideas. On with the list!

My Top 5 RPG Franchises (that are NOT Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest)

Yup, you've read the title, you know what you're getting. However, before we start, here's a few rules:

1. A franchise MUST have more than one game in the series, excluding remakes.
2. SRPG's and Action RPG's are NOT permitted, so no Kingdom Hearts, Disgaea, etc.
3. Eastern and Western RPG's ARE permitted.
4. Spiritual trilogies DO NOT COUNT, so no Soul Blazer-Illusion of Gaia-Terranigma!
