6 Games I want Remade

You read the title, you know what this is. In no particular order...

1. La Pucelle Tactics

The last SRPG developed by Nippon Ichi Software before they hit it BIG with Disgaea, La Pucelle is a challenging yet fun SRPG. It is also the Grand Finale of the Marl Kingdom series, of which only one previous game, Rhapsody, was released outside Japan. Translated and distributed by Mastif (the same company that later distributed Disgaea 1) the game was needlessly censored by said company. I want an in-house translation by NISA themselves, with HD sprites, and of course a Steam release.

2. Makai Kingdom

The second SRPG released by NIS after Disgaea, and as far as I care, it's an Honorary Disgaea. It might not have the same battle system or storytelling style, but the style of humor is certainly present in this game. This was actually the very first game I bought with my own money back in 2008, so it does have a place in my heart. And yes, it DOES have a remake, but it's Japan exclusive, and for the PSP? Nah, remake this for Steam, NIS! I don't even need HD sprites OR a re-translation; just give me two new classes, a few extra New Game + missions, and we're golden.

3. Final Fantasy 8

Being released on the heels of what many consider "the greatest game of all time," this game never had a fair shot at earning its own reputation. It was either going to be a HUGE letdown from FF7, or it was going to be on par with FF7 (a seemingly impossible task). But put the hype aside, and FF8 is actually one of the best JRPG's you can play. Thankfully, with 7's hype dying down, FF8 is finally being recognized for its own greatness...storywise. Gameplay-wise, we're not dealing with a GREAT game. I want this game remade, with FF15's engine and game style. I'm not even asking for a remake like FF7's, where the game is pretty much built up from scratch. No, give me the story as it is; all I ask is a new style of gameplay. And maybe a new boss or two.

4. Brave Fencer Musashi

One of the first post-FF7 games Square released, and damn is it a good one. An action RPG with some humor and plenty of action; a game done RIGHT! Sadly, Square didn't quite know what to do with this amazing new IP they had, squandering its potential with a mediocre PS2 remake/sequel. I want a REAL remake, cel-shaded, 3D camera, but the same action, same music, etc. And of course some new side missions and bosses.

5. Seiken Densetsu 3

Before they had Kingdom Hearts, the Mana series was Square's premier Action RPG property. And in my opinion, the series peaked with Seiken Densetsu 3, a game that gave the player the power of choice: which characters to play as, which story to follow, and how to develop said characters. This is an AMAZING game, and one every RPG, SNES, and Squaresoft fan owes themselves a chance to play. SURE WISH SQUARE-ENIX WOULD RELEASE IT OUTSIDE JAPAN, THOUGH! Can we get an OFFICIAL translation, Square-Enix? That way we can give you our money AND we get this awesome game!?

6. Lunar 2

Before Skyrim was even a twinkle in Bethesda's eyes, the game Lunar: Silver Star was already receiving acclaim/criticism as the KING of remakes. A remake released on Sega Saturn, Playstation 1, Game Boy Advance, Playstation Portable, iOS, etc...YIKES! Meanwhile, its equally worthy sequel, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue has been remade twice. TWICE! This game is just as good as the original game; in fact, some might say it's better! What do I want from a remake? Nothing, save for new sprites, new maps, and new voice acting. No new dungeons, no new bosses, no changes to the story; just give me some eye candy and we're good. I just want this game to get the recognition it deserves.
