Open Letters to Zoe Quinn, Phil Fish, Adam Sessler, Devin Faraci, Samantha Allen, and Kotaku

Dear Adam Sessler:

Your words are those of a comfortable man, a man who has never in his life had to confront the horrors of war save from the safe distance provided by a couch and a television set, or in this new day and age, a chair and a computer. Let me show you some pictures, Mr Sessler:
(CAUTION TO READERS: THE FOLLOWING IMAGES MAY BE UPSETTING FOR YOUNGER AUDIENCES)

I want you to understand one thing, Mr Sessler, and that's that if I used only these two pictures, it's because they were the LEAST disturbing pictures I could find. And if I added these, it wasn't for you, it was for my other readers, because I don't want anyone to come out of this blog traumatized by the images I have seen. But still, look at those pictures, Mr Sessler. THAT is what the chemical weapon consumer base does, fully intently. This is what YOU called more tolerable than the video game consumer base.

REALLY, MR SESSLER!? Are we really that much worse than a consumer base that has killed thousands of people around the world? Are our crimes truly comparable to the use of chemical weaponry, weaponry that has been deemed so awful as to be BANNED from warfare!? You really think we're that awful!? We, who have made YOUR career possible!? If not for gamers, what would you be, Mr Sessler? Was the Social Justice audience the one who stuck by you back when you were hosting Extended Play? Was the Social Justice audience the one who tuned in to X-Play, your show? From 1998 to 2013, we the gamers were the ones who tuned in to your shows. Without us, you would never have had a 14 year career on television.

I would not have minded if you called gamers mysoginistic rapists, as many of your colleagues have found themselves fit to do so, because that's just an uninformed opinion. What I DO take issue with, however, is your blatant disregard for the reality of chemical warfare. You are taking the gaming community, a diverse, international and multicultural community composed of men and women of all ages, races, creeds, and nations, generalizing them and condemning them based on the actions of a few. As if that was not bad enough, you compare us to war criminals, criminals who have not only taken innocent lives, but have destroyed entire communities with some of the most horrifying weapons ever made by mankind.

Mr Sessler, we made you. I supported you. You were one of my favorite TV personas. But now, I can't even look at you. You've lost my respect, Mr Sessler. I hope to one day read about how you take back that comment you made and issue an apology to the gaming community. Until then, I can not, will not wish you well.

EDIT SEPTEMBER 24, 2014- I did not notice the time stamp, and I'll admit I jumped the gun to assume this had to do with Gamergate. I apologize for my mistake, but not for what I wrote.

Dear Phil Fish:

Asking for accountability from someone who is currently being accused of sleeping with several key players in gaming journalism in order to garner more publicity for her game is NOT the same as attacking that person. Also:

Way to trivialize rape, Mr Fish. Right, people who make mean tweets, write emails, and post on message boards negatively about this one woman are no better than people who rob others of their bodily autonomy and agency, inflicting some of the most horrifying emotional pain imaginable! Oh yes, a collection of mean tweets calling a girl a whore are JUST AS BAD as spiking a woman's drink with a sedative, taking her to a secluded area, and forcing a penis into her vagina, leaving her dazed and vulnerable God knows where! Oh yes, Mr Fish, we truly ARE just as bad as rapists! (I say with the most bitter sarcasm I can muster.)

Mr Fish, I have known many brave women AND men who have survived rape. I have seen first hand what it takes to get over something like that. YOU, "sir" (you do not deserve to be called such a thing, shit stain's more your level) have no right to trivialize rape like this. Unlike Adam Sessler, I will not be expecting an apology from you. It will be welcomed, but it is not expected. I do not wish you well, Mr Fish.

Dear Zoe Quinn:

I'd like to think you had good intentions when you made Depression Quest. And I know that many of us crossed the line when you were sent all that hate mail, all that harassment, etc. Know that this is something the majority of gaming does not approve of.

That said, you are no victim. You are not innocent in anything. This isn't about your private life, this is about your public actions. We don't hate you because you cheated on your boyfriend with five guys, we hate you because you shut down a charity designed to allow female game developers to make their own games. We don't hate you because you sucked dick to get your game some coverage, we hate you because you are a

lying,

hypocritical

opportunistic bitch bag. You're not a good person, Ms Quinn.

Dear Samantha Allen:

You're not a professional journalist, and you're not a gamer. This isn't your fight, and we will ALL benefit (yes, you too) from you not getting involved. You are helping nobody with your involvement. Please go back to writing what you've proven to be good at: issues of LGBT representation in pop culture.

Dear Devin Faraci:

Comparing gamers who speak out against Anita Sarkeesian and Zoe Quinn to Holocaust deniers? Classy. Very fucking classy. You, my good sir are-

Wait, no, not "good sir", that's too good for you. Maybe "shit stain" is better suited. Yes, I'll go with that.

You, my shit stain, are everything that's wrong with gaming journalism wrapped up into one neat little waste of human skin: hubristic, hostile towards the people that made your career possible, with nothing of substance to add to the discussion. Oh, and one more thing:

Comparing gamers to terrorists. Comparing gamers to one of the biggest terrorist groups in the world, responsible for the murder of God knows how many Syrians, Iraquis, and who knows who else. Comparing gamers to a group of BEASTS that have ZERO QUALMS about beheading a defenseless journalist, taping it, and releasing the tape for all the world to see! You just keep getting better and better, huh? Mr Faraci, please understand that what I am about to say is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the worst thing I have ever said to anyone, ever: I hope your career ends and you are permanently black listed from EVERY EXISTING BRANCH OF JOURNALISM IN THE WORLD!!!!

Dear Kotaku:

Your days are numbered. Your consumer base has seen you for what you truly are: a nepotistic business with zero integrity and zero credibility. You are not going to get out of this unscathed. And rest assured, everyone involved in your website is going to receive a mighty blow to their careers.

Sincerely:

Angel S. Adames Corraliza
