The 5 Worst Generic Classes and Characters in Final Fantasy

I love Final Fantasy. I've played each of the main installments from 1 to 10, 10-2, 12, 13, 13-2, Mystic Quest, Tactics, Tactics Advance, and Record Keeper. That said, it's definitely a series where there's a scale between heroes and classes; some are objectively better than others. This is a list of the five worst Classes and Characters in the entire series.

Level Analysis- Cemetery of Ash from Dark Souls 3

I've restarted and rage quit Dark Souls 3 more times this month than I have ANY OTHER GAME in my entire life. Because of that I've become very well acquainted with the entire tutorial level of the game, to the point that I have it etched into my mind. And the more I played it, the more I realized that this is a tutorial level done right. This is the reason why.

Tutorial Levels- Do's and Don'ts

I started playing Dark Souls 3 recently, and I'm proud to say that, having played the game for the last 5 days, I've only died 81 times, started over 6, and rage quit a mere 7 times. As I replayed the tutorial level, though, I started thinking about what makes a good tutorial level. And so, I compiled a short list of the Do's and Don'ts of Tutorial levels.

Regarding Lara Croft

When you think Lara Croft, the average gamer will quickly think of the woman who can duel wield pistols, crawls around jungles and exotic locales, all while dressing rather scantily in a pair of hot pants and a tank top. It is inevitable: Lara Croft is rather pleasing to the eye, no matter how many changes you make to her design. But there are people who take issue with her specifically BECAUSE of what she does and how she looks. There are those who oppose Lara's design, saying that her design undermines her as a strong, female character. The question is: does being sexy undermine being strong?

"The mobile games market is an absolute mess, thanks to you"- a rebuttal

Every now and then there comes an article talking about the game industry that makes you take pause and think, to reconsider what's going on in the market, in games media, and all gaming culture. It is a well written, thought provoking article that, if read by the right people, can become the catalyst for real change. This is NOT that article. This is a rebuttal for Aksel Junkilla's article The mobile games market is an absolute mess, thanks to you. Original words from the article will be in bold, and beneath those will be my own words. Remembering Time Stalkers

Way back in the year 2000, during the waning years of Sega as a video game giant, their last console, the Dreamcast, was hungry for RPG's. To be sure, the console was not without some fantastic titles (Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2), but some were...forgettable. One of these RPG's that have been forgotten by most gamers is Time Stalkers. But was Time Stalkers a truly bad experience? Was it simply a mediocre game that was rightly overshadowed by the titans of its genre? Or, was it an overlooked classic?

The Case for a New Darkstalkers Game

Darkstalkers is one of those franchises that has its fans, but isn't the household name it deserves to be. It's a series of fighting games starring a collection of B-Movie horror icons such as a Frankenstein's Monster, a Vampire, a Succubus, a Creature from the Black Lagoon, a Yeti, a Werewolf, an Alien, among others. The first game was released in 1994 in what was the first years of the Golden Age of the 2D Fighter, when companies like Capcom, Midway, and SNK were releasing genre defining titles like Art of Fighting, Street Fighter 2, and Mortal Kombat. Sadly, this franchise, unlike Street Fighter, has been mostly ignored by Capcom since 1997, the last time a NEW game was released for the franchise. Since then, the only use Capcom has made of the franchise was to use some of its characters in their many, many spinoffs, or re-releasing the older games on consoles. Today, however, I'd like to enumerate a few quick reasons why Capcom should make a Darkstalkers 4. I'll start off with the less important reasons and lead up to the most important one.

Character design and characters

As some of you may know by now, I consider myself a skeptic when it comes to character designs, especially "sexy" character designs. You guys know the ones: chicks with huge breasts (DD cup and up), long legs, peach shaped rear ends, the works. Guys with toned, slender bodies, natural tans, feathery hair, that kind of thing. Now, I'd like to take this opportunity to clarify something here: I am by no means pulling any third wave feminist mumbo jumbo here, this blog entry is by no means a critique of the industry's tendency to design and market these kinds of character designs. Instead, I just want to ask a simple question: What is the line between a justified 'sexy' character design, and when the design is just gratuitous?

Because I KNOW that the three or four ladies who are reading this blog are gonna be having a fit over the large amounts of sexism that's bound to be found on this entry, I provide for them the beefcake.
